Three Forecasts Concerning Big Data

Global data have a long history of development. Nowadays, it seems to become more significant as the usage of leading big data (BD) aggregators like the Internet with its social media platforms, text messages, and IoT devices is not going to slow down. The same guidance provides the share of the BD market, which is estimated at $49 billion.

The usage of big data in business has strong positive impact on performance and results of companies, which forces business to search for specialists in this field. However, will the situation change and how will data influence the business? Three experts’ predictions will shed light on this issue.

Big Data Will Be Increased and Transferred to the Cloud

From the analytical point of view, the global database is going expand 26 times by 2025, from 4.4 to approximately 170 zettabytes. Such enormous growth will be caused by the increased activity of individuals who live and work online. Moreover, the percentage of gadgets capable of producing, analyzing, and applying data online is increasingly growing. Thus, by 2025, more than 75% of all people on the planet will deal with information online three times per minute. It is hard to interact with such a massive scope of information, especially hold and process it. Therefore, many companies have transferred data to the cloud. However, another problem arose: personal data cannot be stored on cloud resources. So, hybrid environments that allow the storage of personal data on physical servers have become popular.

Machine Learning is Still Relevant

Another technology that helps develop and improve services and business methods is computer-based training. It is especially essential in the future of big data. It all becomes apparent when you have a closer look at the financing of AI projects in 2019, which became the largest one in the segment and occupied a market part of $28.5 billion. It is especially interesting to consider the prospects of interaction between big data and AI as well as natural language recognition, which will create technologies able to explore the world, drive vehicles, or treat patients independently. They guarantee to improve the quality of our lives, which means that big data will not slow down in AI development in the short run.

Lack of Specialists

With such rapid data development, the demand for BD Specialists and Chief Data Officers (CDO) is predictable. These professions are rather new, but they are popular and needed. A survey conducted in 2019 showed that more than 67% of IT CIOs throughout the world struggled with a shortfall of skills in analytics, artificial intelligence, and big data. Therefore, data scientists along with ML engineers and BD technicians reached the maximum for now.

It is a well-known fact that demand generates supply. So, job offers for big data specialists and experts in AI and computer-based learning engineers are increasingly growing. Indeed, big data is ineffective without division. And that is what the BD specialists are doing: they gather and analyze information using special equipment, reporting systems, and analytics and turn the masses of information into current ideas. Hence, the profession of a big data expert deserves attention, and it may provide a successful career and a comfortable life.
