Over the last couple of years, start-ups have been seeking more funding than ever before through crowdfunding. Since emerging in 2009, crowdfunding has grown to become a major source of funding for startup companies. The first year crowdfunding was introduced startups raised only $530 million, but by 2014, startups managed to raise a staggering $10 billion in crowdfunding alone. It is surprising to see that entrepreneurs still get only 3% of their start-up capital from crowdfunding.

The infographic below created by the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Online MBA program explains how crowdfunding will revolutionize the startup atmosphere and projected to raise over $300B annually throughout the world by 2025.
