Tips to Get Your Recruiting Team to Hire Smarter

Hiring is not quite the straightforward process that recruiters once believed it to be. There are a lot of factors that need to be considered to make sure that you are hiring the best talent out there. From the design and ease of your careers website to the onboarding process, hiring great employees that stay takes consistency and some effort.

    Your Careers Website

Your careers website should be more than just a place for people to apply for jobs. It should be a place where people can learn more about your company. Besides, it is essential that the job descriptions on your website are very well thought out and leave no questions with the applicants about the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Indeed points out in one of their helpful articles for recruiters that first impressions matter. If your careers website is not well designed and informative, you will not attract the top talent in your industry. Make sure that this critical feature and jumping off point of your hiring process is seamless and makes a lasting impression.

    Be Consistent

INC Magazine points out that having an active process to take applicants from the introduction to your company through onboarding is essential in making sure that you hire appropriate candidates and retain them for quite some time. Getting someone to apply is just the beginning. You should have a final process that all recruiters use to interview and screen potential employees, and then onboard them once the hiring decision has been made.

When you have a consistent and seamless process from the beginning of the hiring process to the finish, you will have a much easier time screening and hiring the top talent in your industry. The easier and more consistent you make the hiring and onboarding process, the faster your recruiters will be able to hire new employees and the more likely you'll get top talent onboard before they receive other job offers.

    Onboarding

Onboarding is an integral part of the hiring process. Once you make that decision to hire someone, you have to make sure that they are easily and quickly ready to begin training and start work. Onboarding itself goes beyond training. It includes getting new hire paperwork completed, imparting important information about the company and the position, including company culture. It also includes having a plan for the first one to three months of the employee’s time in your company to make sure that it is a good fit for both your company and the employee.

If you have your recruiters follow these tips, they will have a much easier time of hiring top talent. They say you should work smarter, not harder. The same should be true of recruiting. Smart recruiting is seamless and painless, with a combination of definitive processes and seamless technology. Online recruiting software is perhaps your most valuable tool in your arsenal to ensure your recruiters are hiring smarter and faster.
