How to Prepare for Travelling to Business Meetings

With the business world tentatively getting back to some form of normality, it means that business meetings will start to take place face-to-face as opposed to over video calls which many will welcome as you cannot beat communicating with people in person. While there are positives to this, it is also vital that you know how to stay safe and protect your own health as well as public health as a whole while travelling.

    Travel During Off-Peak Times

One of the best ways to stay safe while travelling for business meetings in the current situation is simply to try and travel during off-peak times. This should make it much less stressful, quieter and easier (as well as cheaper).

Have a Hub to Travel Out From

It is also helpful to travel from one of the major transport hubs so that travel is more streamlined and you can easily get to where you need to go without multiple changes. King Cross trains are a good option as you can easily get to where you need to go and you can even book your tickets online to avoid delays and have one thing less to do on the day.

Wear a Mask & Carry Hand Sanitiser

You should also wear a mask while travelling and to carry hand sanitiser and use this after touching any surfaces. Keeping at least one-metre distance where possible is also important, but obviously this is hard to do in busy areas.

Meet In Quiet Areas & Outdoors

Following this, if possible you should try to schedule to have the meeting in quiet areas so that you do not have to travel through these hotspots. You may even want to have the meetings outdoors if possible which will help all parties to feel safer.

    Walk Where Possible

It is also a good idea to walk where possible in order to avoid having to use public transport. If you would normally jump on the tube just for one of two stops, for example, then look into walking which will be the safer option and also a healthy way to get around.

Business meetings face-to-face are picking back up again and this is the best way to do business, but it is also important that you are alert, focused and have a plan in place to protect your own health and public health especially while travelling.
