The average browser does not want to have to work hard to find out pieces of information. There are so many sites out there that are overly confusing, and all they will do is drive visitors away instead of welcoming them in. Let’s take the example of a site that offers the latest sports odds. These are going to be very data-heavy, and a visitor might want to navigate to one point in particular rather than go searching through everything.

A good web design will be able to direct a visitor to where they need to go with ease. The web page could actually be filled with different sections and pieces of information, but you might never know from the design overall. A smart web designer will ensure that everyone will be able to find what they need to on the site, no matter the route they have to take to get there.

Planning the Wider Site

Of course, most sites are a lot bigger than just one page. The footprint of a website is incredibly important, and it is vital that a site is able to create a space that is well-organised to begin with, but can be expanded on as is needed.

Linking correctly between the webpages or through backlinks is vital. There are far too many sites out there that have broken links and other issues that can just send a visitor going round and round in circles. You should be prepared to receive a wide variety of visitors at your site. You need to make sure that you are therefore as accommodating as possible as you never know who might be stopping by. If you have a visitor who is not a fluent English speaker, they might struggle with certain aspects of your site. Translator tools such as Google Translate which claim to be able to translate in real-time are not the most accurate. Using clear and understandable language will always be a good move to follow here.

Likewise, you can never know when someone might have dyslexia or some other learning difficulty that could cause them to struggle to interpret your site. You might think that the font you have chosen looks quite good, but it might not be one of the ones which are best for people with dyslexia. Making your site as easy to understand and as clear as possible from the moment that it is built is a must.

No matter what the content for your website might be, you need to ensure that it has as clear a design as possible. It needs to be easy to navigate, and all information that a visitor might want to know should be readily available. Take a look at your current website, if you have one, and if you are able to make some changes then you should look to doing so as soon as possible.
